Hello, Christian.

Have repeated the test to reproduce the reported problem on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit, Aero Theme in use, glass effect off, running Total Commander 8.0ß17a 64-bit.

Result:
Nope, cannot reproduce the problem.
So there must be an additional pre-requisite, which has not been mentioned in this thread so far and which is not fulfilled on my machine.

Hi, I could reproduce it using these steps:

1. Extract TC8.0x64 beta 17a from installer (don't bother installing it)
2. In its directory create a wincmd.ini (use your own resolution):

   Code: Select all

   [Configuration]
   UseIniInProgramDir=7
   StartupScreen=0
   DirTabOptions=1
   FirstTime=0
   [1920x1080 (8x16)]
   maximized=1
   

3. Create a shortcut to TOTALCMD64.EXE and set it to run minimized.
4. Run that shortcut, close nag screen and restore TC from taskbar

I just retested it on Win7 x64 - it doesn't matter if I use Aero or Classic theme, the result is the same.

Thanks a ton for your support. - Yet, this is the approach we I used, too (manually extracting from the installer package). And the settings which you quoted - again thanks for bothering to do so - were all present in my wincmd.ini as well. Nonetheless, my Windows 7 Home Premium refuses to reproduce the faulty behaviour.

There is a difference, your maximized=1 entry is in the resolution specific section [1920x1080 (8x16)] . But here T.C. uses the [AllResolutions] section instead. (ResolutionSpecific=0 in [Configuration]) This might make the difference. ... Might, but does not do so here with respect to the reported display problem.

Did you follow this step too?

This is causing the problem (running TC both minimized and restore to maximized).

Yes, I did.

This is causing the problem (running TC both minimized and restore to maximized).

Followed this procedure, too:
Launch T.C. using the link. T.C. starts up minimized. (StartupScreen=0, i.e. no splash screen, a prerquisite, too.)
Click on the taskbar icon thus causing T.C. to return to the maximized window size (fullscreen). But the display bug refuses to show.
