Folder icons

Post by *Martijn »

Hai!

I just noticed that folders have different folder icons in the folder-list. Any idea why this is?

Just take a look at the image to see what I mean.

Hi Martijn,

Are you using WinXP? :?:

If so, probably TC use the WinXP folder icon if the folder has any "special" flag/configuration. WinXP allow you to add images to folder and to define the "type" of the folder (music/image..).

Have you customized this folders?

No, the folders do not contain desktop.ini files. Just MP3 files and folders.

Do the folders have the read only, hidden or system attribute set? This is used by Windows to signal that the folder may contain a desktop.ini for a custom icon. TC asks Windows for the icon if any of these attributes is set.

To my knowledge there are some other techniques to customize folder icon than desktop.ini file.
e.g. axialias, if im not mistaken, uses this approach for XP. Dig there. Smth similar must be your case.

In my first message of this thread, there is a link to an image when you click on the word "image".

No, I did a reset on all the attributes on the folder, all sub-folders and all files, but the icon stays the same.

If this is the case, Windows Explorer should also show these 'different' icons, but in Windows Explorer, all folder-icons are the same.
