FTP: Auto-resume transfer doesn't work when comparing files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

FTP: Auto-resume transfer doesn't work when comparing files

Post by *MarcinW »

FTP configuration option: "Auto-resume transfer if no data received for: ... s" is being ignored, when we use "Files -> Compare By Content" command to compare a file on the local computer with a file on the FTP server. In case of connection loss, the file is being downloaded (to TEMP dir) partially, message box appears ("Error downloading file"), and then the comparison works with a broken file. Downloading is not being resumed. Tested with beta 25.

Sorry, auto-resume isn't supported in the sync tool.

That's a pity. So, please consider adding the support in the future releases.

To prevent this, try FTP-ConnectionDetails -> Advanced -> [ok] Send Command keep connection alive, Command [NOOP], send interval every [3] s.

I must often work with very poor internet connections, so - in my case - disconnecting is not a fault of a server, but fault of an internet connection.
