[TC 8.0 final 64bit] Icon files and toolbars

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 8.0 final 64bit] Icon files and toolbars

Post by *TC_beta »

Hi

After a long wait, I finally got a new box (64bit), so I can play with TC64. Now I found a few issues: (running TC 8 final on Windows 7 64bit)

1. When I press F3 on an icon file to view icons, it doesn't display as icon (picture) but as raw file as if I'm looking at binary file. (TC 32bit works fine).

2. Sometimes, the button toolbar doesn't refresh when I switched back to TC from other application eg. Delphi IDE. I mean, the toolbar is right but the space/frames between the buttons, the background color is supposed to be the same as button color but shows the colors of the previous application eg. Delphi workspace. Looked like as if I can see Delphi while I 'm looking at TC, thru the thin spaces between the buttons in TC toolbar. Hope you know that I mean. Looks like if the display is not updated/refreshed. And it's not Delphi only but from other applications too when I switched back to TC (with alt-tab or clicked on TC in taskbar). TC32bit works fine. I can't re-produce/simulate the issue here in office. Will capture and post when I'm at home.

Thanks

Hi, I can confirm the first problem exists.
Issue #2 seems similar to http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=34060.

1. Sorry, there is no internal icons viewer in the 64-bit version. You can use a plugin or Irfanview.

2. Sorry, no solution.

Maybe this should be mentioned somewhere, along with other known differences. Maybe some kind of a note in helpfile or on your website.

Maybe a partial solution for toolbar problem would be repainting the toolbar when the main TC window gets WM_ACTIVATE message.
