TC 8.x x64 crash

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC 8.x x64 crash

Post by *retalv »

In all versions 8.x for x64 is a damn bug randon using the right mouse button that sends the application to crash.

The x86 version is not affected.

I enclose a video link of the problem, more explicit than a thousand words ...
hxxp: / / vv vv vv . datafilehost . com / download-c6721c5b . html

I am willing to provide (explaining how to create them) lists the drives and configurations of the system if they can help solve the problem.

greetings

This is probably due to a buggy third party Shell extension - please search this forum for ShellExView or look here: http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Right_click_menu_%28context_menu%29_crash

Hi,
with your answer I have verified that the problem stems from "PowerArchiver Shell Extensions". Unfortunately PowerArchiver forum there is no valid solution to the problem and had to choose I prefer to replace the software or permanently disable the shell.

Many thanks for the help!

Add a little help for those who do not know how to disable a "Shell Extension" in Windows:
ShellExView open, select the Shell Extension from unregister, and press F2 will display registers pointing to the CLSID of the shell, navigate to the highlighted key to "InprocServer32" subkey and copy the default key.

Open an administrative console and digit:

regsvr32 /u "<default value of InprocServer32 key>"

Confirm unregister window and the shell will disappear from the contextuals menu of system.

I apologize if these things are explained elsewhere in the forums would be nice to implement a system to allow disabling shell's TCx64 directly.

Why so complicated?
how to disable a "Shell Extension" in Windows:
ShellExView open...
"Context menu -> Disable Selected Item <F7>"
