Background button does not seem to work TC8.0 X64

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Hmm, it works fine here with TC 8.01 RC1 x64 under Windows 7 x64. Testet moving between two different partitions.

Have not tried 8.01rc1 yet
Did some more testing and it seems to happen only when moving files on the same disk
Had a folder with some 4000 files, selected all and did a move operation
from C:\temp to E:\something it works as designed
from C:\temp to C:\temp1 it does not work
File type does not seem to matter as it also happens with folders (as long as you have enough to be able to press the background button)

Tested both 32 bit and 64 bit version on same system and it only happens on the 64bit version

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it, but I made some changes which may fix the problem in your case. Please try with RC2.
