A small glitch while renaming a file without access rights

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

A small glitch while renaming a file without access rights

Post by *umbra »

This isn't anything serious, it just looks a bit weird.

Try to do an in-place rename (Shift+F6) of a file, that lets you to start renaming it but not to finish it, like 'hiberfil.sys' or anything, that resides on a read-only partition. Or just try to use this feature to move any file to a different partition.
When you try to do it, you should get an error about a denied access or something like that (depends on a situation). Keep the error dialog open.

Now the issue. As you can see in the main window, while the in-place rename edit box has been closed, the confirmation button next to it is still visible, even though it shouldn't.

This happens only with TCx32 (tested 8.01 rc4). TCx64 is not affected.

I can confirm this, but only for 32bit TC 8.01rc4 under Windows 7 x64, not under Windows XP

EDIT: It does occur under Windows XP too - but here either the file's icon (if button is on the left) or the text (if the button is on the right) is more or less covering the button, whereas the button is fully visible under Windows 7 - I guess the used theme might have something to do with it - so far testet with Luna theme under both Windows XP and Windows 7.

Not really a bug - the button is removed programmatically, but only when the operation ends (when the dialog is removed).
