[TC 8.01 rc5] win7 daylight saving time error

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 8.01 rc5] win7 daylight saving time error

Post by *dracodoc »

I noticed the file creation time have 1 hour difference with my system clock. This didn't happen in previous TC versions. I'm using win7, with time synced with internet time server.

I turned on the option "NTFS daylight saving correction Ignore 1 hour time delay", now the file creation time looks corrected. However I have folders shared in the local network, and file created by other user still showed 1 hour later.

Upon further reading the help about the option I selected, it looks like it only deal with the compare or folder sync operation, and is not supposed to fix this kind of behavior.

At the first search I didn't find this thread:

http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=30997

It seemed to be a known behavior instead of bug. My question is, if I just want the file creation/modification time match my system time, what can I do? Maybe if I upgrade the other user's TC to 8.0 too will solve this problem.

Your description sounds as if the file created now would show in TC with time different from your current system time. That would of course be wrong.
But I don't see how it could happen. What do you see when you look at the same file in Explorer? Or you can also have both TC 8 and TC 7 on one computer at the same time and do some tests with them.

Not a bug, just a change to work like Explorer. Moving to "will not be changed" forum.
