There is a free DLL from Autodesk to handle the file-properties of Autodesk-Drawings DWG as Shellextension.
I have a software which uses this DLL to display the info in explorer:
http://www.jtbworld.com/dwg-explorer-column-handler.htm
With Shelldetails.wdx it works also fine with TC. Display is fine, report (write to file) is better.
So I use the main DLL -> config DLL -> Shelldetails Plugin -> Total Commander -> WdxInfoPacker Plugin to create reports. The problem is: is does not work any more. Some times ago with another shellextension it worked fine, now there is a problem in this sensitive chain of tools. Deleting the Shelldetails.ini helps only sometimes.
Coming to an end:
What is the best way to write reports from data from shellextensions?

Peter

The solution with WdxInfopacker was (and still is - except of DWG) really first class: Quick, configurable, file creation, different outputs like header and footer and commands and ....sqa_wizard wrote:What about display of custom columns with Shelldetails.wdx, then use command cm_CopyFileDetailsToClip and paste it into an editor ?
On the other side "custom columns" need some time to refresh all infos if you have 1.000-1.500 files ...
This is why I would prefer a solution like this.
