[TC 8.0b17 x32]Copy date/time for FTP directories

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 8.0b17 x32]Copy date/time for FTP directories

Post by *Usher »

Copy date/time for FTP directories doesn't work. Using FTP client files are copied to a local HDD with timestamp from FTP server, but for directories timestamp is set to current time instead.
It doesn't work in TC 7.56a also.

There is a switch in the checkbox shown before each download which allows to activate this function.

Regarding uploads, the option is offered only when the server reports that it can support the command.

This switch works for FTP files only, not for FTP directories. Do more accurate tests before answering, please, as I always do.

Hello Usher!

Just a thought, not tried: Go to Configuration > Options > Copy/Delete and try the setting Copy data/time of directories.

Sorry, didn't notice "directories" in the original post. This isn't supported.

What's the problem? Can't you use the same method as for local directories?

It's not that easy because the date might by changed by uploading files into the new directory. When copying locally, I'm handling this by setting the dir date afterwards, but that's not so easy with FTP because TC may not even be re-visting the parent of the new directory.

Do it the same way as for local directories, please. It is much better to have almost all OK then nothing.
And you already know that copying timestamps for local directories doesn't always work, so I can see absolutely NO problem to implement another imperfect solution.

It will not work with servers which check files after uploading.

Can it be implemented at least for downloading from ftp to local disk?
I really miss this functionality.
