Auto Resume
I'm trying to pull a file off an FTP server that keeps dropping the connection. How do i go about using Total Commander's "auto-resume" feature. I haven't located it anywhere, so i'm not sure how to use it. The FTP server does support resume.....
Not saw--

• Except a mistake, I don't know any "automatic" Resume function in TC...
• It's nowhere to be found in the Help at the FTP topics.
• You could dowload and browse the English free Tutorial to verify this:
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/charries/download.htm#tcmd
- It contains screen-shots of all FTP dialog-boxes (and many others, of course).
¤ However, whether you'ld have an idea about that, it could be a wish for next versions ?

If you appended the files to a list , then you can use as a button-command cm_ftpdownloadlist and if the server dropped the connection cm_FtpResumeDownload. But it doesn't resume automatically.

If you have the file that you want to download in both windows - one side local and the other remote - you can put the cursor on the remote file and button with cm_ftpResumeDownload works too.

Sheepdog:
I wrote about the same wish recently under the thread:
"FTP reconnect & multi-copy"
Eventually Macro Express (www.macros.com) can make TC reconnect, during automatic activating.
Hi Sheepdog, unfortunately this is not good enough, because this requires the user to be by the computer etc. during night. The resume function is available if you downloaded from a download list.

I posted a similar problem but there still seems no solution.
Hope that Mr.Ghisler would implement an option like 'auto resume'.

True but only if you dont lock your computer. ME needs to monitor the focus changes.Eventually Macro Express (www.macros.com) can make TC reconnect, during automatic activating.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
Hey, I would like to have autoresume function too. Sometimes I need to download large file from FTP. I use TC, put the program on taskbar and hope to get it downloaded.
When there is an error - I wish TC would auto-resume downloading.
Furthermore - is there a chance to let TC download a file in multiple threads simultanously to retrieve it faster? (one thread downloads first part of file, second downloads another part of file etc. Afterwards all is concatenated and results in one file, eg. GetRight supports this - but I rather look for some freeware).
Is there a plug-in for TC to do that?

TC is currently a connection-oriented ftp client: It handles all transfers with the same control connection. This is done because some servers have transfer quotas (upload/download), and some servers don't allow multiple parallel logins. What you need is a download manager like Go!zilla: You can create a button with the command
cm_copyfullnamestoclip
When you click it during an ftp connection, all selected file names will be sent to clipboard with the full URL, so a download manager can pick them up.
