Bug/Feature Req: INSERT Availability in TC Text Editor

Post by *Randy »

TC's internal text editor either does not support or does not respond to switching to INSERT text mode which I use occasionally. So I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature request but I'd like to see that functionality added either way!

Thanks.

TC doesn't have any internal text editor.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hmmm.. Tell me please, where did you find TC's internal text editor? TC has no its own text editors, by default it uses Windows Notepad.

Solution - replace Notepad.exe with something better.

TC uses notepad, but NOTEPAD.EXE can be replaced.
Try using EDITEPAD.EXE (rename it to C:\Windows\Notepad.exe).
There was a program EditPad being a postcardware, but it's gone.
However, there is a program EditPadLite - free for non-commercioal use, visit
http://www.editpadpro.com/editpadlite.html
to download for free. (at least on Feb 2004 it is available and for free).
It supports Insert or Overwrite mode, multiple open files and many more
:-)

Thanks for the replies. I have no idea where I got the idea that TC was using some sort of internal editor.
