Open in a panel:
- 1 tab with a Dir
- 1 tab with a openend ZIP with internal dirs (this ZIP)
focus on the opened ZIP
press CTRL-T
You expect: New tab
Result: The tab with the DIR is closed. Just the opened ZIP is left over.
A zip with no subdirs (This one) causes no problem.

Sorry for bumping the old topic, but I just noticed it and thought it was too serious an issue to leave unsolved. However, it seems there is just a misunderstanding. When I tested the suggested scenario I saw that the first tab disappeared from view, but not because it was closed: it was simply moved to the left, outside of the visible region. The ZIP archive name is very long, and with default TC window width there is not enough space for holding two tabs with such long names. But there are "left-right" buttons for scrolling the tabs. If you use them it becomes clear that Ctrl+T worked correctly and all the existing tabs were left intact, and the new duplicated tab was created.
