MKInfoLS crashes frequently?

Post by *Moon »

Can't remember where I downloaded this wlx-Plugin, the readme only mentions using mediainfo.dlls, but it's really fast and shows exactly what I want when pressing F3 on an MKV. However, it also crashes frequently after accessing 3 or so files (that are scanned fine independently). So anyone know of an update or similar plugin that shows the info like this? Thx.

You can try another plugin (old and beta) WLX_Mediainfo. As this one use the standard mediainfo.dll (32bit) you can update it.
see http://total.darkhost.ru/files/beta/wlx_mediainfo.zip

Another solution is to use MultiLister and add mediainfo command line to get your info as text as a start. After you must learn how to configure it to get nice polished html outputs...

MultiLister : http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/filter.html
Configuration tool : http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/filter_cfg.html

MediaInfo Downloads : http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/fr/Download/Windows

I'm using MediaInfo Lite. You can always update the DLL from the official version and it doesn't include any adware.

Take a look at this discussion
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=11467&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=27
I've been using http://total.darkhost.ru/files/beta/wlx_mediainfo.zip for a while without any problems I only update the mediainfo.dll from mediainfo.sf.net
read the info about adding file support in wincmd.ini or the wlx might not load for all formats.

Thanks, iana. I've downloaded the latest version from the thread and there's been no crashes so far.

EDIT: Gosh, been too optimistic. I've replace the mediainfo.dll and it crashed. Replaced with old one and now crashes too. It appears just got lucky on my initial testing...

the crash might be from another plugin, it's one of the problems with tc if you have too many plugins it's difficult to debug what crashes tc.

MMh, I've got only a few installed. For a test I'll backup my TC plugins folder and delete all others manually.

There is a bug in newer versions of mediainfo dll with zero-length (and possibly incomplete) files see here http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=11467&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45
I tested the wlx with 10+ files video, audio & images and had no crashes it maybe a problem with one of your files.
I have a lot of plugins installed.

why this:

Code: Select all

[AVI|MP4|WMV|MKV|MPG|MPEG|3GP]
DisableThumbnails=yes
Default=0
Format_TXT=c:\Program Files\Sistema\Video\MediaInfo\MediaInfo.exe	%fn%%hide%%stdout%	MediaInfo
Format_ACTIVEX={6BF52A50-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6}	%fn%%hide%	Media Player
work for mp4 and not for avi?
