[Bug?] Overwrite RHS files wrong with pinned copy dialog

Post by *Dalai »

Hi there,

sorry for the abbreviation in the title due to the length limit. RHS stands for read-only, hidden and system files.

As you can see in the title I'm not 100% sure if this a bug. So please move the thread if it's not.

Steps to reproduce:
  • Start TC with clean INI:

    Code: Select all

    totalcmd.exe /i="%temp%\fresh.ini"
  • Disable options Misc > Get confirmation before > Overwriting/Deleting read-only files and Overwriting/Deleting hidden/system files
  • Press F5 or F6 on any file/directory
  • In the copy/move dialog, click on Options
  • Result: Option "Overwrite/Delete RHS" is checked.
  • Click on the pin button to always expand the options
  • Cancel the copy/move dialog
  • Press F5/F6 again
  • Result: Option "Overwrite/Delete RHS" is not checked. That's wrong in my opinion but at least inconsistent.
Reproduced with TC 8.01 on WinXP SP3 (32 bit).

Confirmed. Pinning the options causes that the copy/move operation ignores global settings for overwriting such files.

AFAIK Windows pins only executable, it ignores its passed parameters, so you need to pin LNK with corresponding parameters via its context menu.

This is about the advanced options in TC's copy dialog (they can be "pinned").

I can confirm this issue is fixed in 8.5 beta2 (not sure about beta1).
