Open dir on left, its contents on right (like Explorer)?

Post by *bardolph »

I have been using Explorer since 3.1 (hence 3.1, 95, 95b, 98SE, win2K, now XP) and I am a total WHIZ with it. Yet I am trying to learn TC because it obviously has certain advantages. But one thing I REALLY like about Explorer is that when you click on a folder in its left pane, it opens and displays its contents in the right pane, subfolders, files, etc. Is there any way to do this in TC?

Not automatically AFAIK, but you can always use Ctrl+RightArrow/LeftArrow depending on which your current panel is.

Hi !
• Tu use the Leif's trick in an easier way, you could too install the "Old-style" menus, in which "Left" and Right" display-mode can be chosen separately...
• Available from the Petermad's site:

bardolph,
Or maybe use the tree view (Ctrl-F8)?

Use tree view (Ctr+F8) and check option:
menu Configuration | Options | Layout /Display - option TREE:Press enter ...
Disable option and you do not have to pres enter or double click mouse if you move through dirs (folders).
