Explorer behavior

Sorry for this, I should have said this in last post: What I'd like ideally is to have TC behave as much like Win2k-XP Explorer as possible, because I'm so used to that; then I'd have all my old habits PLUS the many excellent features offered by TC. Is this practical? To what extent is it possible to configure TC to behave exactly like Explorer? Is this a worthwhile approach to take for those of us who have grown up with Explorer?

Chances are bad, very bad to be honest.

You will never be able to have the same style folder tree showing all drives plus folders and subfolders in left pane for easy navigation.
You will never see the columns explorer supports like created, comments, more attributes, etc.
Ctrl-Num+ for easy column alignment doesn't work.

Ghisler himself recommends using an explorer clone when you like explorer's behaviour of managing things so I can tell you that xplorer2 alpha is some of the best explorer replacements available till now.
It has some unique features like the desperately awaited "containers" for easy working with search results, dos box, etc:

The predecessor 2xExplorer is final so maybe you wanna give that one a try, too.

Better ask what you are missing, no desires to "guess" what you like...

Bardolf, if you like TC and just miss\ some of the features of Explorer - tell us what you are missing the most.
Additionally, if you need explorer window only sometimes - try this:
To open current folder in explorer window just type . (dot - single character) and press enter.
(Also pressing WindowsKey+E opens explorer - but in default folder.)
That is enough for me, but probably may not be enough for you.
I guess using some Explorer-like manager is better solution.
