FTP thru commandline behind firewall
Can I connect to FTP-server via command line or Directory Hotlist if I'm using a firewall (connection method: command SITE)?
Connecting to FTP via firewall
In general - you should be able to make passive FTP connections. But if your firewall is properly configured AND supports active FTP connections then you should have no problems connecting to FTP servers.
We need more details - what firewall do you have? What problems do you experience when connecting to specific server? What FTP client do you use?

I'm talking about Total Commander.
I used to connect to FTP-servers via Directory Hotlist with the commands like ftp://ftpuser:password@ftpserver.com/dir/subdir/. So I'm asking is there any way to use such commands to establish connections through my firewall.
I have no problems connecting to FTP-servers via Total Commander's command "FTP Connect" (Ctrl+F) sending command SITE as the firewall connection method.
Thanks :-)

No there isn't via directory hotlist, but you can add sites from Ctrl+F to directory hotlist too. The command to use is:
FTPOPEN configured_site_name
FTPOPEN configured_site_name
