wish - parent/root dir buttons into new tab

Post by *Zerryk »

CTRL or SHIFT - click on the "\" or ".." button should open the root or parent dir in new tab, as it works for drive buttons.

It does!!!

Maybe you got confused by having a tab already pointing to the root or parent of a location.

Try this. Close any tab that points to the root of your HD and then Ctrl/Shift and click the "\" button. Do you get the new tab? If not do you have a "weird" ini setting active?

It does!!!
Hm, I tried it, but it didn't work, too. If I ctrl-/shiftclick the / or .. button, the root is opened in the actual tab and no new tab is opened. I closed every Tab in the active panel as you said...
I run TC 6.02b3 on WinXP pro SP1

I also clisk with shift or Ctrl on buttons and do not get the expected result. However it does work for the button being "Network Neighbourhood \" being next to the drive buttons. But buttons "\" ".." located next to the drive information, (above buttons "*" and arrow down).

pdavit, please confirm if there was come confusion or what version of TC do you run.

Like StickyNomad, I run TC 6.02b3 on WinXP pro SP1

Sorry! My mistake! It was working for me because I was testing the behaviour on locked tabs! On regular ones the process is done indeed over the active tab.

I have suggested to Christian that the two new ini settings (TabEnterDirChange and LockedTabChange) with some minor adjustments could provide additional flexibility over non-locked tabs.

Although there are plans for additional options (not for v6.02) Christian did some testing of the aforementioned ini settings on regular tabs and found the behaviour annoying!
