Currently there is a great feature in TC, cm_SyncChangeDir. What if a cm_SyncChangeTab existed so when the user clicked on a tab in a panel, if a tab with the same name existed in the other panel, it would automatically become active? (Yup, i know i'm lazy )...
Ok, perhaps not as cm_SyncChangeTab but as an option in the .ini...

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.
That's a nice suggestion and it may be possible to implement it transparent from the end user (i.e. not with a new internal command).
And what do I mean by that! If cm_SyncChangeDir triggers an existing tab on the opposite side pointing to the same path you will get the functionality you have asked for automatically.
Yet, an option in the ini file to deactivate this behaviour for old-time users should be considered.

From the french Forum :Topic ONGLETS AVEC TC 6.00 : Ghisler says on 29 fev 2004:
Merci! En ce moment c'est seulement expérimental, c'est pourquoi c'est seulement disponible via wincmd.ini. Je vais ajouter ces options dans le dialogue de configuration dans la prochaine version majeure (probablement 6.5).

Hi Panos!
• From this French topic, : http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=2245
• Ch. Ghisler wrote, about folder-tabs features / behaviours, new instructions in <wincmd.ini> TabEnterDirChange=... / LockedTabChange=... :

"Thanks! Actually, this is experimental only; it's the reason for which it's available only via <wincmd.ini>. I'll add these options in the (appropriate) Configuration-dialog for the next major version, probably 6.5."
• I just added a (very) interesting suggestion about the same subject in that topic. I think that you might understand. Or else, just ask for a translation…
• Obviously, "something" is missing in this Forum...
How the two new ini options related to what Wanderer suggested here? Even in the "experimental" stage the functionality of the aforementioned ini options is strictly related to locked tabs.
