I know, this is really weird, but true.
Start with clean INI, some reboots, delete registry entries - did not help.
Finally i've found that crash was caused by UNRAR.DLL. After remove from TC directory (or replace with that from 8.01) crash is gone. File is not altered in anyway. I've also tried with newest from rarlab.com (5.0.8.945) - still crashes.
I think this bug is related to (or in fact the same)
http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=37832 and both topics should be merged.

Did you do anything with RAR files? unrar.dll isn't loaded by "Synchronize dirs" or even TC itself unless you open a RAR file, or make a search in archives.

Crash is gone with beta 2, but still crashes with RAR archives.

I copied the newest Unrar.dll (still 5.0.100.965, but digital signature has date 5 Sep 2013) to the TC 8.50 beta 1 and problems with Alt+F7 and with opening RAR archives disappeared. This works also properly with TC 8.50 beta 2.
So the problem has been fixed.
