-File Highlited when folder is opened
When I open a folder, one of the files is usually highlited like I right mouse clicked it.
gtwatson77459,
Perhaps you clicked on its icon?
Perhaps you clicked on its icon?
Roman14.09.12 Added: Left click on file icon selects/unselects just that file (32/64)
07.04.13 Added: Select files by clicking on their icons also in single click start mode (click on name launches file/opens folder) (32/64)
01.09.13 Fixed: Double click on a folder icon selected the file at this position in the opened subfolder (32/64)
01.09.13 Added: Turn off selection of files by clicking on their icons: wincmd.ini [Configuration] IconClickSelection=0 (32/64)
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
It should be mentioned that it was fixed in 8.50b2.
BTW it is more correct to do double-click onto icon than name (to get rid of inplace rename attempts).

This should indeed be fixed since beta 2 - are you still using beta 1, or is this a new bug?

Oops
You are correct. I was still using Beta 1. I got the latest Beta and it looks like the highlighting of files was fixed.
I don't think I was clicking on the file or icon. It would happen when I clicked on a folder and when the selection changed to that folder, one of the files or sub-folders would be selected (in red). Maybe my mouse pointer would be near the red file or folder but I would have to right click to un-select the file or folder.
I just wanted to say, TC is such a great piece of work. I use it all day every day to do all my file tasks and I really appreciate its features. I am totally lost when I get on a computer that does not have it and I have to struggle with standard Windoze functions. I have used it for many years (probably Win 3.1) and I keep finding things I did not know it did. Thanks for all your hard work.
