-Two trees comparison when one of them is inside 7z

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-Two trees comparison when one of them is inside 7z

Post by *Jivan_Mukta »

Mr. Christian Ghisler,
I am thankful to you for this Great file manager and FTP-client - best in the World, and several parallel Universes!

Unfortunately TC 8.50b4 32bit and previous beta cannot compare two trees by CONTENT when one of them is inside 7z-archive.

Using Total7zip plugin this function works like in TC 8.01.

1/ My 7-zip archive is solid and created by 7-zip 9.20 or 9.22, I am not sure.
2/ TC7Z.DLL unpack files with correct contents and attributes.
3/ From "Synchronize directory" "Compare left and right" (Ctrl+F3) by content also works.
4/ Comparing threes also works through new unrar.dll when one of them inside RAR-archive
that's why in the case of 7z it seems to be a program bug.

There is the same bug in 8.50b4 64bit (or TC7Z64.DLL).

Good luck!

Sorry, this isn't currently supported by the internal 7zip function. Please use one of the plugins if you need it. Since this is quite a complex function because of solid archives, I don't currently plan to add it.
