[TC 8.50 b5] Delayed copying not working with empty folders?

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC 8.50 b5] Delayed copying not working with empty folders?

Post by *KyleK »

I'm running Windows 8.1 Preview with Total Commander 8.50 b5.
I've installed the ext2fsd ext2-driver (latest version, v0.51), and am trying to copy data from an ext3 drive to a USB NTFS drive.

There's a lot of data, and I started the copy process in the evening, hoping it'd be finished in the morning.

But, I was presented with a dialog "Fehler, kann <name of empty folder> nicht lesen!", and the common options of Ignore, Ignore All, Retry etc.

I'm not sure why empty directories cannot be copied from the ext3 drive.
Still, I'd expect TC 8.5 to continue copying everything else.

EDIT: Copying the folder via Windows Explorer works.

This means that FindFirstFile returned an error when TC tried to look inside the folder. Normally it should return "no more files". I guess that this is a bug of the ext2fsd driver.
