Crash while searching backwards in file compare

Post by *mayhemer2 »

STR:
- TC 8.0 x64, Win7
- compare two text files ([?] 6MB+)
- [?] resync compare on few lines (Context menu/Resync comparation from here)
- [?] search for a string (Ctrl-F)
- search for a different string (Ctrl-F)
- search backwards (Shitf-F3)
=> dialog saying that string "R" (or similar non-sense) could not be found + crash

The [?] marking means that the particular item might or might not be important to reproduce.

This is not easily reproducible. I usually compare large text log files (6 - 10MB) and have a lot of resync lines done.

My TC may be running for weeks.

This crash was present also in beta versions of 8. I cannot say for sure whether I've seen it also in 7.56.

Hi, try new version of TC. This should be fixed in TC 8.01. See http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=34641

I'm moving this to "Fixed bugs" since I didn't receive any similar reports for TC 8.01.
