-Packer always opening archive like directory

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-Packer always opening archive like directory

Post by *daniloz »

Hi all,

I've noticed this in 8.50B11, don't know if it was there before or not.

Even if I uncheck the option "Treat archives like directories" in Configuration / Packer, TC still opens TAR, TGZ, GZ, 7Z, ZIP and maybe others (haven't tested all) inside TC as a directory and not using my default program (7Zip).

Is this a bug or I'm missing something?

Thx,
daniloz

This happens when TC cannot find any association for a file type. It's possible that the association isn't 100% correct, so TC cannot find it.

Thanks for the answer...

What do you mean by isn't 100% correct?

I've tried to re-associate 7Zip with GZ files, for example, and if I open Windiws Explorer (argh!), it shows the correct 7z icon and opens the file with 7Zip when I doulbe-click on it, so it seems to be correctly associated...

But in TC, still the same behavior, i.e. open as directory...

I mean things like there is no "open" verb, and the default verb isn't set to what is used instead, or similar problems in the registry.
