Something special I noticed during "Synchronize directories".
http://i.imgur.com/OlukLVP.png
2 HDD, first (Z:) is for data, second (D:) is his identical copy (backup). Compared was selected directories, not whole HDDs (no $RECYCLE.BIN, no System Volume Information, etc.). "Properties" tab is for this selection.
I think "1" is (files + dirs), but numbers don't match. And which two files are counted in "2" and not counted in "3"...
The second thing I found is: properties for some directories/files was not copied (date/time), about 50 dirs/files.
- properties for description.ini files
- dir with very long path and his parent dir: http://i.imgur.com/91dERfl.png
- dir with special name, eg. "DOC] --------------------------------------------------------–––– [DOC" (mix of - and – at the end)
- ? eg.: http://i.imgur.com/bFYD6wR.png
TC 8.50ß11 x32 + DiskDirW v1.1.2 (LSTW files) on W7SP1x64
-How many files?

The best solution:
1. format C:
2. install TotalCmd
3. install Windows (optionally)

"Copy attributes" in synchronize dirs only shows the number of items (and their sizes) selected by the user. TC does not show all items: It hides directories not containing any files.
This also explains your "second thing".

Thank you for your answer. As I understand it:

Nr. 1 = Number of files + Number of dirs with at least 1 file
Examples:
1) C:\D1\sD1\sD2\sD3\<empty>
=> attributes of 0 items will be synchronized (empty dirs are not counted)
2) C:\D1\sD1\sD2\sD3\file.ext
=> attributes of 2 items will be synchronized (1 file + 1 dir (sD3) with the file), but I'd be happy* if it was for 5 items (1 file + 4 dirs)
3) C:\D1\sD1\sD2\file.ext & C:\D1\sD1\sD2\sD3\<empty> (subdirectory sD2 contain 1 file and 1 empty subdir (sD3))
=> attributes of 2 items will be synchronized (1 file + 1 dir (sD2) with the file), but I'd be happy* if it was for 5 items (1 file + 4 dirs)
Nr. 2 = Number of files
Nr. 3 = Number of files - ? (here 2)
resp.
Nr. 2 = Number of files + ? (here 2)
Nr. 3 = Number of files
Difference between 2 and 3 (number of files) still looks like a bug (in Windows or TC?).

The "second thing" is explained, thanks, but very unpleasantly for me, because in some cases is date/time of dir very important for me (and I think I'm not alone) -> is very important to be synchronized for all dirs. Mainly for dirs without files, but with subdirs. Thank you for your understanding Mr. Ghisler.
