USB-STCK mounted and accesible, but not listet as mountpoint

Post by *JojPacovi »

Hi, have some minor usb problem...

If i plug in USB-stick it gets mounted by system and is accessible by
TC but the USB symbol/mountpoint does not show up in TC-Homefolder.

i post my /proc/mount output...maybe it helps...
if you need content of config files i will post them.

setup is:
--Device: Acer Iconia A500
--Custom 4.3 ROM

As you see i run a Custom 4.3 ROM so i do not expect that you really help on this Issue.
I was just wondering...How does TC find out that USB device is inserted so it displays
mountpoint in Home-folder?
Is TC reading /proc/mounts constantly to see when usb is inserted?
In Custom ROM 4.2 where vold.fstab was present it worked fine.
What does TC need to find to show usb device mountpoint?

Thanks for the mounts file - in principle, this should work.
Is TC reading /proc/mounts constantly to see when usb is inserted?
No, only when you switch from another directory to the home folder. There is no notification from the system when a card is inserted or USB-Stick attached.

Edit: I have tried your mounts file, TC should definitely detect your device. Here it shows up as "SD-card (2)".

Thank you for looking into this...interesting...it
shows up as SD-card(2) on your device. My external-SD shows up as that in TC
and mounpoint gets created and deleted correctly according to mount-status.
Where does TC get the label SD-card(num) from?
Maybe my problem lies there...most probably custom-rom misconfiguration...
I watched behaviour on other file-manager but that one only showed SD-card
icon-symbol with path to /storage/usbdisk0 and uses no label.

sorry for bothering you...

Sorry, TC sees only this mount point:
/dev/block/vold/179:129 /storage/sdcard1
but not this one:
/dev/block/vold/8:1 /storage/usbdisk0

I have added this now, and sent you a beta version via e-mail to your forum e-mail address. Please test it!

perfect....just downloaded the beta.a installed it
and it works correctly. USB symbol is back again and works as it should.

Nice christmas present for a atheist like me... :)...thanks a lot.
I hope the official version will be released fast as other users might have same
problems.

Happy Holidays!...and thx for unlocking account...

P.S:..i do not see a donate-version in google-apps-store and no
"donate beer" button in the forum...intentionally?

Thanks for checking the fix! I plan to release the new version later this week or sometimes next week in the play store.
