Multi Rename Tool: range button has no function

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Multi Rename Tool: range button has no function

Post by *mreck »

Hi, the buttons in the Multi-Rename-Toll has no function. I can input the string manually e.g. [N7-99] but I can't press the pre defined button.
It's not new, I already saw it earlier in 8.01 maybe.
Now I use beta 15 with Windows 7 / 64 in German.

Greetings!
Mike

Could it be that this only happens if the list below the buttons is empty after a successfully rename operation?

In this case pressing the "[N#-#] Range" button does not show the range dialog.
Instead of that a "[N]" is inserted (and may be replace the already existing and selected "[N]") in the "Rename mask: file name" field.

Regards

Indeed the range button doesn't work when the list is empty. Why? It uses either the longest name, or the name the user clicked on as a sample to choose the range.
