+symbol ">" always present in the size column

Post by *victor8585 »

I tried to remove "<DIR>" near the directory in column size .
For this, in the LANGUAGE\WCMD_RUS.LNG has been replaced string
677 = ""

but symbol ">" remained in the column size.

This happens because the string is automatically shortened when the translation is too long, and '>' is appended to the (now shorter) string when necessary. I will add it when the string doesn't start with '<'.

Does that mean that you will change the behaviour so that '>' is NOT appended if the string doesn't start with '<'

Confirmed changed in TC 8.51b2 - both for string 677="<DIR>" and string 678="<LNK>" :-)

This happens because the string is automatically shortened when the translation is too long,
I cannot see that there is any shortening of the two strings - how long are they supposed to be to become shortened? I have testet in TC 7.57a, TC 8.01 and 8.50 too no shortening of strings up to 24 chars (without the two <>)
