-Incorrrect shortcut to 64-bit Total Commander Executable

Currently, in 64-bit Windows, TOTALCMD64.EXE runs as a 32-bit image.
You cannot start a 64-bit program (TOTALCMD64.EXE) from a 32-bit program (TOTALCMD.EXE)!
1. Start the Windows Task Manager, TASKMAN.EXE.
2. You will see a "*32" beside TOTALCMD64.EXE to indicate that it's 32-bit.
Alternatively. one can run Process Explorer, procexp.exe.

(right-click on the columns and select 'Image Type' to show which processes are 32-bit.)

The correct way to start TOTALCMD64.EXE is to use a shortcut to TOTALCMD64.EXE either on desktop or from the Start Menu.
Alternatively, one can use a batch file located inside the Total Commander program folder.

Sorry, but this is pure nonse
I start totalcmd64.exe from whatever location I want
and it is shown by all tools as 64 bit executable.
Process Explorer shows it of course as Image 64bit

Time to check your system and / or to reinstall Total Commander.

Hey, folks.

Take the genuine 32-bit totalcmd.exe file.
Viciously create a copy of it and name it totalcmd64.exe.
Launch totalcmd64.exe.
I bet my hat that it will be identified as being a 32-bit which indeed it is.

I cannot reproduce it either. Testet with Windows 7 SP1 x64 and Windows 8.1 x64

I open 32bit TC and got to my 64bit TC folder, where I double click in TOTALCMD64.EXE. Then I check processes in Task Manager - no TOTALCMD64EXE *32 in that list!
