i wrote a simple program that uses "trid" to best guess the file's type by its content (or "magic").
it works nice with right-click menu, but i would like the option to see all files' types in a folder, like extension.
i use it sometimes on a list of files with unknown origin (e.g. browser cache) to fix their extension, or simply to know what's the file in front of me.
for now i use my little popup-by-right-click program, and a bunch of batch scripts to list or rename all files in a folder.
but it could be really helpful (and generic) to be able to see the files' types in an additional column.
we'll be able to sort by it, quickly see which type doesn't belong to which extension, etc.
i'd write the plugin by myself but i'm very bad at C/C++
the "file" or "trid" command line binaries are available free from gnuwin32 project, probably also as DLLs (in addition to EXE)
is there a plugin that uses "file" or "trid&q
