-Synchronize directories case sensitivity

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-Synchronize directories case sensitivity

Post by *derbas »

I'm using TC 8.50, and am having a problem that I believe to be a bug (as I can find no settings to change the behavior).

If I'm synchronizing two directories, and two files have the same name but different cases in the extension (i.e., "Picture.JPG" and "Picture.jpg"), they do not show up as different files. The contents are identical, it's just the names that differ. However, I'd like the option to have such case-sensitive names show up, so that I can copy the 'correct' version from one side to the other.

Hope that's making sense...

In Windows names "Picture.JPG" and "Picture.jpg" are equal, therefore sync tool ignores case differences. However you can try my NameCompare plugin in order to mark files with different cases in filenames as errors.
