+Password request for archives shows a new taskbar button

Post by *Flint »

Strange that I noticed this only now, but it happens with all 8.5x versions I checked. When I'm unpacking an encrypted RAR archive and password request dialog is displayed, there is a new button appears in Windows taskbar for this dialog.

Tested in Win7 x64, TC 32- and 64-bit.
In 8.01 the button does not appear.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this problem. I tried with TC 8.50 final and the latest beta on Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8.1 x64.

Here is what I tried:
1. Enter a RAR file with password-protected names -> password dialog appears, but there is no extra icon in the taskbar
2. Enter a RAR with unprotected names, try to unpack a password-protected file with F5 -> same result
3. Enter a RAR with unprotected names, try to view a password-protected file with F3 -> same result
4. Tried the same also with elevated TC

Can you give me more information, please?

No need to enter a encrypted RAR file.
Just use "cm_UnpackFiles" on button bar or Alt+F9 to unpack the encrypted RAR file.

Thanks, I didn't try that! It uses the same functions, but I can indeed reproduce the problem. I will try to find a solution.

Confirm the fix in 8.51rc2.
