migrate plugins
I have done this with a crude method: step 1) sync this folder between my two computers: c:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd\plugins\victorwoo wrote:How can I migrate plugins from one computer to another?
I want to backup the installed plugin list of Computer1, and restore the plugins to Computer2, is it possible?
Step 2) sync wincmd.ini (or at least the relevant parts of wincmd.ini).
I'm not implying it is the best way.
I have TC installed with all ini files in its home dir.victorwoo wrote:How can I migrate plugins from one computer to another?

Also all plugins are under this tree and use the TC environment variables.
So I just copy over the whole tree to any other PC or Tree and it works.
Ah yes - Horst.epp's way is better. And FYI the TC environment variables look like this in wincmd.ini:Horst.Epp wrote:I have TC installed with all ini files in its home dir.victorwoo wrote:How can I migrate plugins from one computer to another?

Code: Select all
[ListerPlugins]
0=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\wlx\fileinfo\fileinfo.wlx
1=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\wlx\LinkInfo\LinkInfo.wlx
1_detect=force | (ext="LNK")
2=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\wlx\URLView\urlview.wlx
2_detect=EXT="URL"
3=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\ulister\ulister.wlx
4=%COMMANDER_PATH%\plugins\wlx\Office2007\Office2007.wlx
4_detect=ext="DOCX" | ext="PPTX" | ext="XLSX"| ext="PPSX"
So I've figured out why that error happens: it happens if I try to run the util from Windows Explorer, if I run it directly from TC - it runs fine.HAL 9000 wrote:Help, I get this whenever I run updater

Total Commander is not running!

Total Commander can't be found. Incorrect wincmd.ini path?

ОК

It would be nice if you taught the util to search for wincmd.ini right in the same folder where Total Updater's exe is.
Or maybe add an input field to program's GUI to let user navigate and select that file manually.

Wrong detection of SFTP Plugin version
Hi!
The SFTP plugin based on PuTTY is shown with weird name and wrong version that is available for download.
Image: http://abload.de/img/sftp-plugin_detected_ceu0s.png
Could be that this is due to the restart of the plugin with some changes in websites and download pages. The plugin is listed here:

Greetings

feature requests
I always have the problem when i install Totalcmd new i have to find a list of plug-ins i installed before.
You have the plugin list. Can you make a export of it to a file? (txt, html with links?)
Maybe if you than can import this file again and only download the zip files. Then i can install these plugins again (Or install automatically?).

Re: feature requests
Have you tried the PluginManager: http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/tc_plugman.htmlCruysen wrote:... Can you make a export of it to a file? ...
It has many functions, also a "Report". Maybe it can help ..

Re: feature requests
Backup your wincmd.ini before you reinstall TC, all plugins are listed in there. And if you backup the plugins directory as well, there will be no need for external tools or a list of plugins you had installed.Cruysen wrote:I always have the problem when i install Totalcmd new i have to find a list of plug-ins i installed before.
