-Background Search some problems

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-Background Search some problems

Post by *lukass »

Background Search (alt-F7)
made a search with file: * and text: aword

Some files were found (thats Ok)
Now I selected one of the found files and opened it with the internel viewer and pressed F3 but the internal viewer did not searched for the text: aword but took the last searched word of the old File-Search (F7)

(This error happened always)

I think it is another background search limitation: separate process can't communicate with internal lister.

Second problem

Post by *lukass »

After using the background search (alt-F7) I got the file list with the found files.
I tryed to search into this filelist with the background search - but this is not possible, so I tryed now with the old search (F3) into the same filelist - with the old search it worked.

Yes, background search also doesn't support searching in selected files/folders and in virtual lists.

It should work when you view the files directly inside the separate search window. However, when you use "Feed to listbox", the program to which you sent the search results knows nothing about the used search parameters.
