File size/filesystem wrong error message

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

File size/filesystem wrong error message

Post by *bean224466 »

When trying to copy a large file to a FAT32 formatted external HDD, TC 8.51a (on win 7 32-bit) gave a warning message to remove the writing protection. The correct message should be: "The file is too big for the target file system." It would have saved me about twenty minutes :)

To quote from there: The German translation doesn't say "Please remove the write protection!" but "Remove the potentially existing write protection!" which is a clear signal that TC just doesn't know why the file cannot be written and offers write protection as a possible cause.

In the English version the error message bluntly states that there IS a write protection. I think this should be changed for better information.
