I set up a NAS on my FRITZ!Box 7490 with a dedicated user.
The connection from my PC is easy (fritz.nas) but since I'd like to use the NAS as my own cloud storage I'd like to access it from my Android Smartphone over the internet.
This works fine when using an android web browser; I set up a MyFritz-DynDNS before, so with http://somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/nas I see the login mask and can login.
But when I got it right this should also be possible with Total Commander and the LAN plugin. I found some postings here but still have no idea how to configure the plugin.
What to put in the user / password fields is self-explanatory but what should I enter in the server field?
I tried
• /nas
This gives me the error "Unknown host: smb://nas/"
• //somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/nas
This gives me the error "Unknown host: Failed to connect to server"
• somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/nas
This gives me the error "Failed to connect: somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/12.34.56.78" where 12.34.56.78 ist my current IP (where somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net resolves to)
Any ideas?
Configuring the LAN plugin for FRITZ!Box NAS connection

Wouldn't that be something for the FTP-plugin instead of the LAN plugin?
With the LAN plugin noting happens when I try to connect to this configuration.
The FTP plugin results in "failed to connect to somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/12.34.56.78 (port 21): connecto failed EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)"

It looks like the name of the box cannot be found, neither via SMB protocol, nor via DNS. Can you try to enter the internal IP address of the Fritzbox?

Yes, via LAN plugin the connect with the internal Router IP works, thanks.
But when I'm outside there's no WLAN, so the LAN plugin won't work.
For this I tried the FTP-plugin. The internal Router-IP is of course unknown to the outside world so I'm back to the DynDNS-approach via ftp or ftps that sqa_wizard suggested, which gives me the error I reported above ("failed to connect to somelongweirdstringhere.myfritz.net/12.34.56.78 (port 21): connect failed EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)").
