Zero bytes and timestamp at drag'n'drop

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Zero bytes and timestamp at drag'n'drop

Post by *tbeu »

TC 8.51a 32-bit on WinXPSP3 German

If I drag and drop a file attachment from an Outlook 2000 message to TC and if this file already exists I see the following overwrite dialog claiming zero byte size and zero timestamp: Image: http://tbeu.de/forum/ZeroTC.png. For comaprison, the Windows Explorer does not know better and displays this lack of knowledge (Unknown size and date): Image: http://tbeu.de/forum/ZeroEx.png
TC plugins: Autodesk 3ds Max / Inventor / Revit Preview, FileInDir, ImageMetaData (JPG Comment/EXIF/IPTC/XMP), MATLAB MAT-file Viewer, Mover, SetFolderDate, Solid Edge Preview, Zip2Zero and more

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I think incorrect timestamp may be treated as a bug (Explorer honestly tells that data is not available)...

Apparently, file is greater than 0 bytes and younger than 1601.

tbeu,
Is it? There does not seem to be any file at all (at that moment).

Seriously, if there is not yet a file then size and timestamp should not be displayed in overwrite confirmation dlg.

I will check it, thanks. Normally TC shows nothing if the values aren't known. Maybe the drag&drop function reports the wrong values, maybe no values...
