CD/DVD Burning Plugin: Are minor changes possible?

Post by *Masutin »

I tried the commercial Complex TC Burner (complexnt-com downloads complex_pro.zip) but for me it loses to CD DVD Burner (totalcmd-net plugring tcburner.html).
Now there may be less need for writing optical media but this is just in case my request finds support. If it does, I'll list my wishes.

The plugins seems not maintained since 2005, if you only need to build iso and burn it afterward you can give a look at "Total iso Maker" and use a simple tool to burn after even from tc butons if you use CommandBurner or BurnCDcc.

I'm using IMGBURN with 2 em_ commands mapped to buttons:

[em_IB_BurnListAdvanced]
Menu=Burn list advanced with IMGBURN
Cmd=C:\tools\IMGBURN\IMGBURN.EXE
Param=/MODE BUILD /BUILDINPUTMODE ADVANCED /SRCLIST %L

[em_IB_BurnList]
Menu=Burn list with IMGBURN
Cmd=C:\tools\IMGBURN\IMGBURN.EXE
Param=/MODE BUILD /BUILDINPUTMODE STANDARD /SRCLIST %L

Thanks for the advice!
That plugin is useful, as you add files to write, very easily to control available capacity down to a byte! You don't even need to insert the media. I know no other tool to do this. I just asked to see if anyone could make a few minor improvements.

I guess we're resurrecting an old thread, I remember reading that ghistler purchased an official license from foxburnier sdk and got the code of the CD DVD burning plugin from the original author and there was supposed to be an official new version out as the current version redistributes a commercial dll for free.
the thing is almost nobody burns data anymore, we have cheep usb flash memory and even cheaper cloud storage, I'm not sure how useful the burning plugin is now days as windows XP+ already has build-in burning capabilities.

The problem is that the plugin code doesn't work with the newer versions of the foxburner sdk, and I would have to put a lot of work (many weeks) into it to make it work again. As "iana" said, people don't burn that many data CDs any more due to cheap flash memory.

As I said above using ImageBurn together with TC allows easy selection and burning from TC.
But as you says I also no longer burn data CDs
