Running TCM as admin with mouse button assignment

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Running TCM as admin with mouse button assignment

When TCM8.51a is run as administrator with and without Windows 8 compatibility mode, all Logitech MX mouse button assignments do not operate . Those assignments are effective only under normal user run.

:?: How would it be possible to get the mouse button assignment working ? :?:

I don't think that's possible. To make mouse button assignments work, there is a software in the background that sends messages to the current window (at least that's what I think how it works). Since Windows does not allow messages to be sent to a window that runs in a different or higher user context, they can't be sent to any program that is run as administrator. You can try it with Notepad or WordPad or Paint or something like that, but I guess they won't work there either.

When I need such background tools to work in elevated programs, I remove them from standard autorun and create task scheduler task to start them on user logon with elevated permissions. When tool is elevated, it is able to communicate with (usually) both elevated and non-elevated processes.
