Plugin confusion

Post by *raytc »

In the last years I added more and more plugins but I note that I created more and more confusion.
There are a lot of plugins with the same extensions.
I don't know which to put at the top (how to sort the list of plugins).

Can anyone help me?
(I use them with F3 key - lister - is that correct)

These are my plugins:

You can sort plugins by drag&drop or with Shift+Cursor keys in Configuration - Options - Plugins - Configure. This is relevant for lister plugins and lister plugins only: Lister will try the plugins in the order in which they appear in the list, until it finds a matching plugin. You can press '4' repeatedly to switch to other plugins.

You mean:
..for packer plugins and lister plugins only...?

For packer plugins the first one (supporting given format) is used on ENTER or CTRL+PgDown.

He didn't list any packer plugins in his question, and the dialog where you can sort only handles Lister plugins.

But packer plugins exists and sort order is relevant.

Wrong: works for content plugins too, but for unknown reasons not for packer plugins - this is lack of feature. The only way is manually sorting.

You can tru Alexey's TC plugins manager http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/tc_plugman.html
note it's 32bit only I'm not sure if it would work correctly with the 64 bit version of TC.

The order of wcx and wlx plugins is important as tc loads them top to bottom while opening a file (for example if you have imagine and SGViewer installed and SGViewer is above imagine when loading an image in lister F3 SGViewer will be used to display the image (although old SGViewer with Intel's jpeg library is faster then imagine but Imagine has full unicode support + a 64 bit version), the same goes for wcx the wcx iso plugin has support for nrg images but Total-7zip with 7z.dll can open UDF only iso files so what wcx is loaded first is important.

I don't need ANY external workaround.
I know this (and other) tool for many years.
What i'm talking about is TC interface.
