Slow big folder synchronization with WebDav

Post by *mrz »

Total Commander, version 8.51a 32 bit (2014-04-30)
Latest WebDav plugin.

Hello.
When I press Analyze button in Dirs Synchronization dialog it takes a lot of time to read all subfolders.
Folder contains tens of thousands of files.
I dont know is it server problem or plugin issue.

Also strange counter slowing at the bottom (remove spaces, i can't post images): i . imgur . com / PPei62G . gif

Neither. You gave the answer yourself: it's the number of files/directories.

At first sight it might seem strange. But if you think about it, it isn't strange at all. It's really fast to scan directories on the local drives, but it's not fast to scan remote directories, even more when they're on the internet. TC starts the comparison on the left side (scans all directories) and then scans the directories on the right side. If you swap sides then it will be the other way around (slow at first and faster later).

Thanks for the reply.
I did not know that TC scanned local directory first.
Now lets talk about speed :o)
Compared with GoodSync, and GS analyzing about two times faster then TC.
GS log:

Code: Select all

001440 Analyze has finished with Errors. Click Errors button to see all error items
001440 Changes: 60 396, Conflicts: 0, CopyTime: 0, CopyState: 2 033/4 172, Errors: 3, All: 66671
001440 Left to Right: Copy File: 60393 Copy State: 2033
001440 -- Analysis Complete. Time 00:26:37, Speed: 1 788 files/s
Both working through SSL.
May be there is some performance tweaks exists?[/code]
