Since I installed something (not really sure what) when I quich view an mp3 file all I get is a black media player window, but no scroll bar and no sound. I install the mmedia.wlx plugin to see if it would solve the problem and I still can't get any sound. This plugin also gives me in "Error Details" -> "advanced" the error that I get:
"Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)"
Now I know this means that WMP can't find the mpe decompressor, but I can't understand this, cause if I double click the MP3 file, WMP plays it just fine.
In quick view though it just won't play any mp3s.
This happened to me once again in the past when I installed one or 2 WMP updates from MS download page. After removing these updates it worked fine again. Now I am not really sure what I did install that caused this.
Does any1 have any ideas what may be wrong?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Sounds like you have installed an additional codec, which is used by lister's media player control as the default, but fails to play the file you pass to it.
