[8.51a] leave out base directory and empty folder

Post by *Ammammata »

hello there

select two folders containing data and one in the middle (alphabetically sorted) that's empty
pack them using the option in subject
when the packer reaches the empty folder stops with message "No files found" and doesn't proceed with the remaining folders

Which packer are you using?

ZIP, internal, fastest compression, default folder for temp files

the problem doesn't occur if I remove the thick on the option, getting a zip file near empty, with just the folder (empty)

I can confirm this issue. This also applies to external packers: Select RAR while WinRAR is set as external packer for RAR, WinRAR will show an error for the empty directory, and sets the whole "packing show" to a halt. If one looks at the temporary file TC uses for the external packer, it's empty (just a Unicode BOM is there). So there's nothing there the packer can process.

Confirm the fix.

I created 256 folders, the first and the third containing some data, then I ran the packing procedure and at the end I got the warning for the first five empty folders, followed by ellipses :)
