Usefull Feature: TC as FTP server

Post by *Jqn »

Hi,
I like old feature "PORT connection with other PC" (by paralell cable).
And I mean with a remote connection via Internet, that allows me to control another PC files across TCP/IP ports.

Yes, like FTP, but using different ports (selected in wcx-ftp.ini) from these 20-21.

Why?
1.) Using variable ports allows access to EVERY PC in my intranet.
2.) Using a special command set (these of TC), and special password encription, provides additional security.
3.) I can close and block ports 20-21 in my router.
4.) I can use a lot of new functions provided by TC.

Comments are wellcome.

Hmm interesting idea. Is it already working, or are you asking for experiences?
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

2SanskritFritz:
No, is'nt working.
I do not know any product that does it, but I have not looked for it either.

I'm mean at PCanywhere and some others remote admin servers.

I wish that Chistian considers this function to be useful and adds it to TC program.

I agree Joaquin; it would be great if we could share files (and brief messages) with other TCOM users on the intra- or internet.
