Where is scroll bar?

Post by *which »

I am using version 6.0 and sometimes some of the file/folder name is very long. but TC has no horizontal scroll bar. I have to maximize the current window. Does anyone know where is that horizontal scroll bar?

:)  Hello!
• It's nowhere, since that doesn't exist in TC-pannels; we have it only in Lister "Quick view" Ctrl+Q

* To show the long file-names, you can use three features:
1. Enable the info-balloons for files names: Configuration >> Display >>> Help texts section >>> Tick the box :
"Show file-name in the list as tool-tip if truncated"

2. Display the long files names in the status-bar, via the <wincmd.ini> entry :

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
LongInStatus=1
a. That works only in "Full View" mode,
b. Obviously, you can't display all other infos in the status bar ( like we say in French "Cheese OR dessert!" )

3. With a right-click on the separator-bar between the pannels, you can change directly the width-ratio of the pannels from a small pop-up menu; hence you can see the whole long names, then you will come back to the normal ratio 50 / 50 or to any other by the same way…
   Kind regards,
Claude

You can define a shortcut to show the tooltip.

While I don't mind the lack of the horizontal scrolling bar for normal TC use I find it missing in 2 out of the 3 cases on results feed from a search result! Yes, there are workarounds but they are still called workarounds.

Ok. Thank you Haxer. I guess thats a way of doing it.

The best thing tho would be that it did that automatically tho.

Could be a good feature request perhaps.
Hope Mr Ghisler reads this. : )
