Hi,
I'm a software developer and when I pack my source code, I first click Show and select the custom file selection where I only have 3 or 4 file types I need to save. This works fine in the top level folder I'm working in but all the sub-folders zip up ALL their file types without regard to the constraint I have set.
My saved source code archive is getting to be about 8 times larger than if the sub-folders respected the file type constraint I have set for that file panel.
Is there a way to pack the files selected in a file panel and have the sub-folders respect the file constraint?
Thanks.

It's not a bug, because this is not what the filter is meant to do.
It's just the constraint for the current view (that's why it's under "View").
Files in a sub-dir are not affected by this.
One solution would be to use the Branch View (Ctrl+B).
Just activate it in the base dir, apply the filter, and now use your desired archiver
(it automatically uses the now selected files only).
The dir structure will be kept.
BTW, I wouldn't recommend using the filter all the time, because it's sometimes easy to overlook that you still have it activated.
Using a normal selection (Numpad +) will do the same, but is only temporary.
