Windows splitting

Post by *which »

Is that possible to split TC to 4 windows? (so that in both left and right side I can use dirtree mode, it is much easier to move files or do comparison or .....)

:)  Hi !
• No, isn't possible. There was a big (hot !) topic on the German Forum about that a while ago… Please use the "Search", then some German-speaking kind user(s) would give you an abstract of this discussion (I hope).

Yup, another hot discussion took place here in the English forum too. I believe Christian said that he did not intend to add more "splits" because all the functions (copy, move, etc) would have to be changed to support more than one "source" and "destination" panels so a very important functionality of TC would be lost.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Yet Christian "promised" to look into the matter of coping a file (or group of files) to multiple destinations since the introduction of folder tabs. It doesn't really fall into the same category as the suggested feature here (at least visually), but the functionality can be similar in many cases.

A wish that I really support since for network administrators can be a powerful and time-saving ability. ;)

Really? I must have missed that... That would be a nice addition to TC.

It might have been over the beta testing forum. I cannot really recall, but yes he made a positive comment on the suggestion ergo I "assumed" his consideration. Fingers crossed! ;)

Shall we start a poll on the subject? :D

In true, What is the LOGICAL difference between two (or more) tabs in both panels and two (or more) splitting windows in same both panels?.

Only it's necessary to take an ACTIVE (or principal) window in every panel.
