tc8.52 refresh abuse from a side
hi,
i use tc 8.54 64bits on win7x64.
Also, i use a customize column view to display 'genre' id3tag from a music folder.
i always activate the customized view in the right side.
i know the refresh is slow once i activate it (due to plugin i guess).
but, when i rename a filde in the left side (where i have regular colum view), it runs a refresh in the right side !
is it normal ?
As the right side (where customized columns are) is slow, it is very boring.
i understand the refresh orperation when i work in the right view, but when i work in the left view ?

i'm an old long user of TC since the windows 3.11 release !, for the history, i came to tc when i migrate from amiga commodore to PC where they are diskmanager and directory opus there.

I guess your left side shows the same directory as the right side.
Once you are renaming a file on the left side, MS Windows throws a message which says something like "There has something changed".
Unfortunately it doesn't tell you what has been changed.
This means, TC just knows that _something_ happened, but not exactly what.
Therefore the complete file list has to be refreshed.
You may disable the automatic refresh for this drive:
Configuration - Options - Operation - Refresh: No refresh for this drives

no, of course not!sqa_wizard wrote:I guess your left side shows the same directory as the right side.
left side is a different physical drive than the right one ! thatis why i think this slow-reload is not normal at all.

It should only refresh the other side if the directories are related somehow. Are they on the same drive?

on the right side (customized column view), i use a plugin to get the music genre from the mp3 file (wdx_shelldetails) . But in the left side, i use nothing at all.
here a simple exemple :
on my left : c:\ (disque0)
on my right : f:\ (disque 4) with mp3 file
when i'm deleting a file in the c:\temp on the c: drvie, then the right side is reload-refresh.
